Muscat: MSM30 Index closed at 3,915.23 points, down 3.67 points, or 0.09 per cent. The Sharia Index also followed suit, closing lower by 0.06 per cent before closing at 544.37 points. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. Oman Fisheries, up 7.46 per cent, was the top gainer while Muscat City Desalination, down 7.89 per cent was the top loser.
A total number of 401 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR691,000 with more than 5.74 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 9 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreigners were net buyers for OMR44,000, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR37,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR7,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,297.73 points, up 0.14 per cent. Alizz Islamic Bank, Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, Al Madina Takaful, and National Bank of Oman were up by 2.53 per cent, 1.39 per cent, 1.19 per cent, and 0.61 per cent respectively. Global Financial Investment, United Finance, Bank Nizwa and DIDIC were down by 6.67 per cent, 4.11 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.00 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index witnessed gain of 0.24 per cent before closing at 4,756.51 points. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were up by 7.46 per cent and 2.47 per cent respectively. Oman Cement closed lower by 1.65 per cent at OMR0.238.
Services index was down 0.03 per cent before closing at 1,938.25 points. Al Suwadi Power, Al Jazeera Services, and Renaissance Services were up by 2.70 per cent, 0.89 per cent, and 0.85 per cent respectively. Muscat City Desalination, Phoenix Power, Omantel, and National Gas were down by 7.89 per cent, 2.44 per cent, 1.05 per cent, and 0.59 per cent respectively.
