Muscat: MSM stocks continued its decline for the fourth session in a raw and index closed at 3,890.89 points, down 0.52 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed lower by 0.20 per cent at 537.88 points. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 3.42 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman & Emirates, down 3.75 per cent was the top loser.
A total number of 351 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR764,000 with more than 5.95 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 15 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR225,000, while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR205,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR20,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,295.96 points, down 0.56 per cent. Muscat Finance, up 1.59 per cent, closed at 0.064. Prices of Oman & Emirates, Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Bank Muscat, and National Bank of Oman were down by 3.75 per cent, 2.06 per cent, 1.59 per cent, 1.46 per cent, and 1.24 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index witnessed decline of 0.54 per cent before closing at 4,606.37 points. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 3.42 per cent, closed at OMR0.121. Al Maha Ceramics, Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering, and Oman Cement were down 2.70 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.27 per cent, and 0.87 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.40 per cent before closing at 1,918.49 points. Muscat City Desalination was up 1.90 per cent. National Gas, Oman National Engineering, Al Batinah Power, OIFC, and Omantel were down by 3.61 per cent, 2.14 per cent, 1.33 per cent, 1.10 per cent, and 1.07 per cent respectively.
