Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,884.91 points, down 0.16 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed down by 0.18 per cent at 540.73 points. National Life & General in, up 3.45 per cent, was the top gainer on Sunday while Oman Refreshment, down 6.96 per cent was the top loser. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Sohar International Bank was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 515 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.390 million with more than 13.101 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 13 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR300,000, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR297,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR2,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,283.35 points, down 0.43 per cent. National Life & General Insurance, Vision Insurance, Oman & Emirates investment Holding, and Al Madina Takaful were up by 3.45 per cent, 2.70 per cent, 2.06 per cent, and 1.22 per cent respectively. Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, Bank Nizwa, Sohar International Bank, and Ahli Bank were down by 2.67 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 0.94 per cent, and 0.87 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,622.92 points, Down 0.39 per cent. Raysut Cement, and Galfar Engineering was up 2.83 per cent, and 1.27 per cent respectively. Oman refreshment, and Oman Cement were down 6.96 per cent, and 1.30 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.29 per cent before closing at 1,915.80 points. Al Maha Pteroleum marketing, Renaissance Services, Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo, and Al Batinah Power were up 2.44 per cent, 1.76 per cent, 1.74 per cent, 1.73 per cent, and 1.33 per cent respectively. Oman National Engineering, National Gas, Al Suwadi Power, Muscat Gases, and OIFC were down 5.11 per cent, 2.58 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 2.47 per cent, and 2.22 per cent respectively.
