Oman's share index closes lower

Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,876.04 points, down 0.23 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed down by 0.48 per cent at 538.13 points. Al Jazeera service, up 4.27 per cent, was the top gainers on Monday while Oman Cable, down 9.78 per cent was the top loser. Sohar International Bank was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Ominvest was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 617 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.52 million with more than 22.76 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 8 declined and 15 remained unchanged
Financial Index closed at 6,261.14 points, down 0.35 per cent. Al Sharqia Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Al Anwar Holding and Oman United Insurance were up by 4.11 per cent, 2.41 per cent, 2.08 per cent, and 1.14 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, Sohar International Bank and HSBC Oman were down by 2.82 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 0.94 per cent, and 0.88 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,592.85 points, down 0.65 per cent. Al Anwar ceramic, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement was up 3.92 per cent, 2.50 per cent, 1.41 and 1.32 per cent respectively. Oman Cables, Oman Chlorine, Al Maha Ceramics and Raysut Cement were down 9.78 per cent, 2.25 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.32 per cent before closing at 1, 21.86. points. AL Jazeera Service, Al Suwadi Power, OIFC and Omantel were up 4.27 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.14 per cent, and 0.73 per cent respectively. Oman National Engineering were down 2.31 per cent respectively.
