Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,816.73 points, down 0.15 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed down by 0.30 per cent at 535.97 points. Phonix power, up 1.20 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Anwar Ceramic, down 1.87 per cent was the top loser. Sohar International Bank was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Renaissance Service was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 162 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR0.684 million with more than 3.694 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 11 declined and 24 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and foreign investors were net buyers for OMR87,000, while Omani Investors were net sellers for OMR60,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR27,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,270.21 points, down 0.12 per cent. HSBC Oman and Bank Muscat were up by 0.88 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Al Anawar Holding and Al Ahli bank were down 1.19 per cent, Bank Nizwa 1.12 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.87 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,553.67 points, down 0.41 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic, Raysut Cement, Oman Cement and Al Maha Ceramics were down by 1.87 per cent 1.67 per cent, 0.87 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively.
Services index down 0.04 per cent before closing at 1,859.45 points. Phoenix Power was up 1.20 per cent. Renaissance Service, OIFC and Omantel were down 1.17 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively.
