Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,822.81 points, up 0.16 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed up by 0.02 per cent at 536.06 points. National Gas, up 4.58 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Madina Investment, down 4.17 per cent was the top loser. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 240 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.137 million with more than 6.286 million shares changing hands. Out of 23 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 3 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net sellers for OMR189,000, while GCC & Arab Investors were net buyers for OMR154,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR34,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,276.58 points, up 0.10 per cent. Sohar International Bank and Al Madina Takaful were up by 1.89 per cent and 1.20 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqia Investment and Bank Muscat were down 1.19 per cent, Bank Nizwa 4.17 per cent, 2.56 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,557.31 points, up 0.08 per cent. Galfar Engineering closed up by 1.27 per cent.
Services index up 0.21 per cent before closing at 1,863.42 points. National Gas and OIFC were up 4.58 per cent and 2.30 per cent. Renaissance Service, OIFC and Omantel were down 1.17 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively.
