Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,793.90 points, down 0.38 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed down by 0.44 per cent at 531.24 points. Ahli Bank Perpetual Bonds, up 2.80 per cent, was the top gainer while Muscat Finance, down 4.69 per cent was the top loser. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover.
A total number of 327 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.37 million with more than 8.50 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 15 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR327,000, while local investors were net buyers for OMR174,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR153,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,231.70 points, down 0.45 per cent, Ahli Bank Perpetual bond was up 2.08 per cent. Gulf Investment Services, Muscat Finance, Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqiya Investment and Al Madina Takaful were down by 5.63 per cent, 4.69 per cent, 4.35 per cent, 3.70 per cent, and 1.41 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,513.60 points, down 0.65 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic, Voltamp, Galfar Engineering and Al Maha Ceramics were down 4.67 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.14 per cent before closing down at 1,861.12 points. Sembcorp Salalah was up by 1.92 per cent. Renaissance Service was down by 4.22 per cent.
