Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,785.57 points, down 0.22 per cent. The Sharia Index also closed down by 0.75 per cent at 527.27 points. Oman Qatar Insurance, up 9.09 per cent, was the top gainer, while Al Jazeera Service, down 9.45 per cent was the top loser. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover.
A total number of 457 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.71 million with more than 14.41 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 8 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR209,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR148,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR61,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,242.20 points, up 0.18 per cent, Oman Qatar Insurance, OIFC, HSBC Oman, Gulf Investment and Bank Muscat were up 9.09 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.77 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively. Vision Insurance and Al Sharqia Investment were down 4.39 per cent and 2.56 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,485.55 points, down 0.62 per cent. Salalah Mills was up 0.35 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic and Galfar Engineering were down 2.94 per cent and 1.27 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.69 per cent before closing down at 1,848.23 points. OIFC was up by 2.22 per cent. Al Jazeera Service, Renaissance Service and Al Batinah Power were down by 9.45 per cent, 7.23 per cent and 1.37 per cent respectively.
