Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,748.03 points, down 0.25 per cent. The Sharia Index closed higher by 0.47 per cent at 520.64 points. Gulf Investment, up 6.45 per cent, was the top gainer, while Al Anwar Holding, down 4.04 per cent was the top loser. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while OIFC was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 378 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR0.96 million with more than 8.47 million shares changing hands. Out of 28 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 9 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net sellers for OMR198,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR191,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR8,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,183.00 points, down 0.46 per cent. Gulf Investment was the only sector gainer and closed at OMR0.066, up 6.45 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa, National Bank of Oman, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were down by 4.04 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.27 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,418.68 points, up 0.54 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Flour Mills were up by 4.3 per cent and 4.05 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement and Al Maha Ceramics were down by 1.13 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
Services index closed flat at 1,844.90 points. Al Jazeera Services, OIFC and Ooredoo were up by 4.35 per cent, 2.25 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively. Renaissance services and Omantel were down by 1.69 per cent, and 0.38 per cent respectively.
