Muscat: MSM30 index closed at 3,765.06 points, up 0.04 per cent. The Sharia Index closed down by 0.12 per cent at 518.23 points. OIFC, up 5.15 per cent, was the top gainer, while United Finance, down 8.82 per cent was the top loser. OIFC was the most active in terms of volume and turnover.
A total number of 671 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.92 million with more than 17.49 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 10 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic were net sellers for OMR346,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR269,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR77,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,128.52 points, down 0.08 per cent. Oman & Emirates, Gulf Investment, Bank Nizwa, Ahli Bank, and HSBC Bank Oman were up by 4.05 per cent, 1.32 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 0.90 per cent, and 0.88 per cent respectively. United Finance, Alizz Islamic Bank, Oman united, Al Madina Takaful and Al Anwar Holding were down by 8.82 per cent, 2.74 per cent, 2.34 per cent, 1.24 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,426.44 points, down 0.15 per cent. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Oman Flour Mills were up by 1.43 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement was down 3.51 per cent.
Services index closed down by 0.40 per cent at 1,842.35 points. OIFC and Omantel were up 5.15 per cent and 1.51 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power and Al Suwadi Power were down by 5.95 per cent and 4.11 per cent respectively.
