Muscat: MSM30 index closed down by 0.02 per cent at 4,026.25 points. The Sharia Index closed down by 0.18 per cent at 539.01 points. Dhofar Cattle Feed, up 4.24 per cent, was the top gainer while Renaissance Services, down 2.99 per cent, was the top loser. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of number of shares as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 651 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.73 million with more than 24.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 8 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR605,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR585,000 followed by local investors for OMR20,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,580.97 points, down 0.01 per cent Gulf Investment Service and Al Anwar Holding were up by 2.56 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful, Oman United Insurance and Al Sharqia Investment were down by 1.23 per cent, 1.20 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,436.34 points, down 0.23 per cent. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Galfar Engineering and Oman Cement were up by 4.24 per cent, 2.50 per cent and 0.88 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramic, Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down by 2.83 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
Services index closed up 0.01 per cent at 1,943.38 points Muscat City Desalination, OIFC and Sembcorp Salalah were up by 1.77 per cent, 1.65 per cent and 1.56 per cent respectively. Sohar Power, Renaissance Service and Muscat Gases were down by 2.99 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
