Trough of low pressure to affect the Sultanate: PACA

Muscat: Oman’s northern regions will receive thundershowers between Wednesday, 15 April, and Friday, 17 April, due to the presence of the low-pressure Al Ghadaq Trough over parts of the Sultanate.
A statement from the Public Authority for Civil Aviation said, “Varied intensities of rainfall, and occasionally thundershowers, associated with fresh wind and hail, are expected over the Governorate of Musandam, extending gradually to affect the governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, North Al Batinah, the Hajar Mountains, and the adjoining areas.”
Visibility in the Wusta and Dhofar governorates will also be affected, as the trough is likely to create a south-westerly wind that will lead to dust over many parts of the two regions, while conditions are sea off the coast of Musandam are likely to be moderate, with waves rising to heights of 2.5 metres.
The Public Authority for Civil Aviation “advised all to take precautions during the rains, and avoid wadis, and to check visibility and conditions at sea before sailing, follow the instructions of the Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19, and to stay home and not leave it unless necessary.”
