Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index closed at 3,451.41 points, up 0.04 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down by 0.21 per cent at 520.10 points Dhofar Generating, up 6.67 per cent was the top gainer while convertible Dhofar Investment, down 8.78 per cent was the top loser. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 273 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.1 million, with more than 5.288 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 13 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR310,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR184,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR125,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed up by 0.41 per cent at, 5,470.74 points. HSBC Oman, Bank Dhofar, Ahli Bank and National Bank of Oman were up by 4.65 per cent, 1.03 per cent, 0.81 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively. Dhofar Investment, Takaful Oman Insurance, Al Sharqia Investment, Al Anwar Holding and Sohar International Bank were down by 8.78 per cent, 5.08 per cent, 2.99 per cent, 1.47 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,946.42 points, up 0.27 per cent. Raysut Cement, Al Maha Ceramics and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 1.68 per cent, 1.02 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Steel was down by 1.12 per cent.
Services index was down 0.42 per cent before closing at 1,535.72 points. Dhofar Generating was up by 6.67 per cent. OIFC, Omantel, Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, and Ooredoo were down by 2.44 per cent, 1.95 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 1.47 per cent and Ooreder were down by 1.02 per cent respectively.
