Muscat: The coast guard on Monday rescued 27 fishermen who were reportedly distressed and stranded in their boats due to rough sea.
A statement issued by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said: "Coast Guard Police assisted 27 people whose boats were stranded at sea off the beaches of governorates of Muscat, Musandam, North and South Al Batinah, as their boats were towed by police boats to the nearby ports."
"The Royal Oman Police calls on boat owners to carry out regular maintenance of their boats, take enough fuel and ensure that safety and first aid kits are in place before going to the sea,” the statement added.
