Nine-year-old honoured for his heroic act

Muscat: Al Mu'tasim Al Shaksi has been honoured by the Director-General of Civil Defence in recognition of his heroic stance in saving his family from a fire that broke out in their home.

A statement issued by Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance said, "The Brigadier General, the Director-General of Civil Defense honoured Al-Mu'tasim bin Ahmed Al-Shaksi (9 years) in recognition of his heroic stance in saving his family due to a fire in their home in the Wilayat of Bahla in the Governorate of Al-Dakhiliyah, and the Brigadier praised his good behaviour, stressing the importance of community members' awareness of the risks and how to act during accidents."
