Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,619.03 points, down 0.79 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down 0.05 per cent at 517.61 points. Al Jazeera Steel, up 2.06 per cent was the top gainer while Bank Dhofar, down 5.41 per cent, was the top loser. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 239 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.8 million, with more than 3.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 11 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net sellers for OMR291,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR227,000 followed by GCC & Arab for OMR64,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.84 per cent at, 5,836.34 points. Muscat Finance was up by 2.04 per cent. Bank Dhofar, National Bank of Oman, Gulf Investment, Sohar International and Bank Musca were down by 5.41 per cent, 1.81 per cent, 1.47 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,957.67 points, down 0.27 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel was up by 2.06 per cent. Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down by 2.52 per cent, 1.22 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.09 per cent before closing at 1,567.79 points. Renaissance Service and Ooredoo were down by 0.61 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
