Muscat: Police arrested five smugglers and seized more than 20 kg of drugs hidden on the beaches of Al Batinah North Governorate.
The Royal Oman Police said in a statement: "The Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police of the North Al Batinah Governorate, arrested five Asians on charges of smuggling and possessing narcotic substances with the intention of trafficking, and for entering the country illegally, in association with international gangs."
"10 kilograms of hashish, in addition to 11 kilograms of crystal drug were hidden in one of the governorate's beaches and was recovered. Legal procedures are being completed against them."
