Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,621.41 points, up 0.01 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.07 per cent at 515.33 points.
Oman Oil Marketing, up 19.75 per cent was the top gainer while Oman Qatar Insurance, down 8.25 per cent, was the top loser. Sembcorp Salalah was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Ooredoo was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 387 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.1 milliom, with more than 8.1 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 7 declined and 24 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR321,000 while foregin investors were net sellers for OMR210,000 followed by GGC & Arab investors for OMR111,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,832.90 points, up by 0.08 per cent. Dhofar Insurance, Vision Insurance, Oman Arab Bank and Oman United Insurance were up by 10.00 per cent, 4.44 per cent, 2.44 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. Oman Qatar Insurance and Gulf Investment were down by 5.56 per cent and 2.94 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,954.83 points and ended flat. Dhofar Cattle Feed and Al Jazeera Steel were up by 9.57 per cent and 3.81 per cent respectively. National Aluminium, Oman Cable and Galfar Engineering were down by 3.37 per cent, 2.71 per cent and 2.04 per cent.
Services index was flat before closing at 1,565.95 points. Oman Oil Marketing was up by 19.75 per cent. Majan College and Muscat Gases were down by 3.23 per cent and 3.20 per cent respectively.
