Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,595.11 points, down 0.54 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.20 per cent at 513.66 points. Al Anwar Ceramic, up 2.44 per cent was the top gainer on Sunday while Arabia Falcon, down 6.52 per cent, was the top loser. Muscat Finance was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 281 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR0.488 million, with more than 3.5 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 15 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR52,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR40,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR12,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,802.53 points, down by 0.04 per cent. Arabia Falcon Insurance, Muscat Finance, Bank Muscat, Al Anwar Holding and Al Madina Takaful were down by 6.52 per cent, 4.26 per cent, 1.66 per cent,1.49 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,951.15 points, up 0.04 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic was up by 2.44 per cent. National Aluminium, Galfar Engineer and Oman Cement were down by 3.26 per cent, 2.08 per cent and 1.74 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.17 per cent before closing at 1,561.22 points. Al Jazeera Service, Phoenix Power, and Al Maha Petroleum were up by 2.34 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.80 per cent respectively. OIFC, National Gas, Al Suwadi Power, Ooredoo and Sembcorp Salalah were down by 2.25 per cent, 1.90 per cent, 1.85 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
