Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,584.22 points, down 0.18 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.15 per cent at 516.73 points. Al Suwadi Power, up 1.82 per cent was the top gainer today while Muscat Finance, down 4.35 per cent, was the top loser. Al Jazeera Steel Products was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and Renaissance Service was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number 356 of trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.89 million, with more than 4.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 7 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR107,000 while Local investors were net sellers for OMR68,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR39,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,761.28 points, down by 0.19 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was up by 1.54 per cent. Muscat Finance and Sohar International Bank were down by 4.35 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,046.35 points, flat 0.00 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic was up by 1.10 per cent. Gulf International, National Aluminium and Al Maha Ceramic were down by 2.86 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.02 per cent before closing at 1,565.05 points. Al Suwadi Power and Muscat City were up by 1.82 per cent, and 1.00 per cent respectively. OIFC and Ooredoo were down by 1.09 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively.
