Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,560.28 points, down 0.14 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down by 0.41 per cent at 519.40. SMN Power, up 4.55 per cent was the top gainer while Al Madina Investment, down 4.17 per cent, was the top loser. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 174 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.3 million, with more than 14.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 7 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR37,000 while GCC and Arab were net sellers for OMR28,000 followed by foreign for OMR9,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.04 per cent at, 5,686.61 points. Al Sharqiya Investment Holding and Bank Dhofar were up by 1.43 per cent and 1.00 per cent respectively. Bank Nizwa and Bank Muscat were down by 1.01 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,956.48 points, down 0.24 per cent. Galfar Engineering was up by 1.96 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic and Raysut Cement were down by 1.32 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.15 per cent before closing at 1,539.84 points. SMN Power and Phoenix Power were up by 4.55 and 1.82 per cent respectively. Al Kamil Power Company and Ooredoo were down by 2.94 per cent and 1.00 per cent respectively.
