Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,691.15 points, up 0.15 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.07 per cent at 519.78 points. Oman & Emirates Investment, up 4.44 per cent was the top gainer while Dhofar Generating, down 1.02 per cent, was the top loser. Al Anwar Ceramic was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 232 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR0.521 million, with more than 3.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 28 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 2 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR200,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR123,000 followed by local for OMR76,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.15 per cent at, 5971.12 points. Oman & Emirates Investment, Gulf Investment, OMINVEST, Bank Nizwa and National Bank of Oman were up by 4.44 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 1.22 per cent,1.00 per cent, and 0.58 per centrespectively. Bank Muscat was down by 0.52 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 3,971.63 points, up 0.16 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic and Al Jazeera Steel were up by 1.24 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.15 per cent before closing at 1,569.44 points. Renaissance Service was up by 1.85 per cent. Dhofar Generating was down by 1.02 per cent.
