Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA), has issued an advisory on safety measures for use of electric heaters.
A statement issued online by PACDA said, "The safety measures to avoid electric heater hazards include:
1- Do not place the heater in house corridors to avoid tripping over it or the wiring.
2- Do not place wiring under carpets or furniture.
3- Children should not be left alone while the heater is operational.
4- Have a circuit breaker installed to stop current flow to the heater in the event of an emergency.
5- Do not use it to ignite a fire, heat items or burn incense.
6- Do not use it with bad wiring.
