Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,606.98 points, flat 0.01 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.32 per cent at 509.29 points. Raysut Cement, up 2.41 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Omaniya Financial, down 4.11%, was the top loser. Shares of HSBC Oman was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 407 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.5 million, with more than 9.10 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 14 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR331,000 while local were net buyers for OMR178,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR152,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,578.33 points, down by 0.34 per cent. Oman United Insurance and Bank Muscat were up by 0.50 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively. Al Omaniya Financial, HSBC Oman, United Finance Al Anwar Holding and Gulf Investment were down by 4.11 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.56 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,170.910 points, down 0.01 per cent. Raysut Cement and Al Jazeera Steel were up by 2.41 per cent and 1.42 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering, Oman Flour Mills and Al Maha Ceramic were down by 2.44 per cent, 2.23 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Services index was down by 0.06 per cent before closing at 1,600.72 points. OIFC and Omantel were up by 1.12 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power, Oman National Engineer, Ooredoo and Al Maha Petroleum were down by 1.89 per cent, 0.99 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively.
