
Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,642.12 points, up 0.49 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.62 per cent at 520.16 points.
Gulf Investment Services, up 6.59 per cent, was the top gainer while Dhofar Cattle Feed, down 9.48 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of OIFC was the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 576 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.41 million, with more than 10.58 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded stocks, 20 advanced, 5 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR191,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR131,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR60,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,620.30 points, up by 0.31 per cent. Gulf Investment Services, United Finance, Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, Al Sharqiya Investment, and Al Madina Takaful were up by 6.59 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.43 per cent, and 1.35 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Holding and Sohar International Bank were down by 1.61 per cent and 1.08 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,240.57, points, up 0.68 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Oman Flour Mills, Raysut Cement, Gulf International Chemicals, and Al Maha Ceramics were up by 5.00 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 1.76 per cent, 0.99 per cent, and 0.92 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle feed and Oman Chlorine were down by 9.48 per cent and 1.45 per cent respectively.
Services index was up by 0.67 per cent before closing at 1,581.33 points. OIFC, Sembcorp Salalah, Muscat Gases, Al Jazeera Services, and Omantel were up 4.55 per cent, 4.08 per cent, 0.98 per cent, 0.87 per cent, and 0.56 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services was down 1.19 per cent.
