
Muscat: The Omani Cultural Attaché in London has published the following steps for attesting certificates and academic qualifications.
A statement issued online by Omani Cultural Attaché in London said, "In order to certify certificates and academic qualifications, a certification request must be submitted through the student services on the Ministry of Higher Education website (ASAS), as based on the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education. Applications will not be accepted via e-mail. Here are the steps:
1- If the student has a file in the Ministry of Higher Education, he must go to the ministry’s website www.mohe.gov.om and click on electronic services for students at the top left of the page, then choose to log in and then enter the card number and password. After that, go to student requests, specify the application, and follow the system instructions.
2- If you do not have a file or account in the ministry, you need to go to the ministry's website www.mohe.gov.om and click on the electronic services for students on the top left of the page and choose to register students under ASAS word in the top left and answer the questions, and the system will take you directly to the right page according to your answers.
3- In the event that there is a document or missing details, the correction will be requested and the missing document will be re-sent, and it is also not possible to search for the request in the event that it is sent for correction until you update the request, and accordingly the request will appear again after the update, which in turn enables the attaché to take the necessary actions and send the request to the institution.
4- Required documents: a copy of the passport and graduation certificate, whether it is a BA, MA or PhD, transcript of marks and an authorization letter can be obtained through the link below: https://eservices.moheri.gov.om/Student/EquivalencyForms.aspx?lang=en . Please note that only scanned documents and copies are accepted, and photos from cameras or mobile phones are not accepted.
5-The cultural attaché will contact the institution issuing the qualification as soon as the application is fully received from the ministry's website in preparation to ensure the validity of the documents submitted by the student.
6-Note that the procedures for responding of the university and obtaining proof of the validity of the qualification range between (4-6 weeks) and according to the speed of the university taking into account that some universities from the principle of preserving personal information require the concerned person to apply online through their own website and pay some fees For this service.
7-Please be aware that there is no priority to verify documents and request urgent service, as verification is done through a third party (universities / educational institutions), which does not give the attaché any powers to expedite the request.
8-Therefore, the attaché requests to contact via e-mail to follow up the request in the event that it is late for the specified period, that is, after six weeks from the date of submitting the request only, noting that electronic messages are sent to the concerned person related to the latest developments in the request through the ministry's website (ASAS).
9-Finally, when the certification process is completed, please contact the Ministry of Higher Education for the equivalency procedures.
