Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,649.12 points, down 0.30 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.47 per cent at 530.373 points. Galfar Engineering, up 4.00 per cent, was the top gainer, while National Bank of Oman, down 6.02%, was the top loser. Shares of National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 509 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.665 million, with more than 9.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign Investors were net buyers for OMR30,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR28,000 followed by local investors for OMR1,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,458.907 points, down by 0.86 per cent. Al Sharqia Investment, Al Madina Takaful, and Bank Muscat were up by 1.39 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively. National Bank of Oman, Oman Arab Bank, HSBC, and Oman United Insurance were down by 6.02 per cent, 4.62 per cent, 2.38 per cent and 2.01 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,645.963 points, up 0.27 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Al Maha Ceramic and Dhofar Cattle were up by 4.00 per cent, 1.61 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively. Gulf International was down by 2.83 per cent.
Services index was up by 0.12 per cent before closing at 1,602.675 points. Semcorp Salalah, Al Suwadi Power, Ooredoo, OIFC were up by 2.11 per cent, 2.00 per cent, 1.91 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively. Renaissance Service. Phoenix Power and National Gas were down by 2.23 per cent, 1.92 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively.
