Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,606.12 points, up 0.08 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.48 per cent at 536.71 points. Omanya F.B 2020 Insurance, up 38.00 per cent, was the top gainer, while Al Oula Company, down 50.00 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Madina Investment was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 484 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.25 million, with more than 10.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 7 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net sellers for OMR340,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR300,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR40,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,380.05 points, down by 0.11 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Bank Nizwa, Al Omaniya Financial, Al Sharqia Investment and Al Madina Takaful were up by 4.17 per cent, 2.11 per cent, 1.54 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively. OMINVEST and Ahli Bank were down by 3.82 per cent and 1.77 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,608.60 points, up 0.11 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic, Gulf International, Oman Cement and Raysut Cement were up by 3.5 per cent, 2.94 per cent, 1.85 per cent, and 0.67 per cent respectively. Al Oula Company, Galfar Engineering and Jazeera Steel were down by 50.0 per cent, 8.89 per cent and 1.34 per cent respectively.
Services index was down by 0.77 per cent before closing at 1,586.13 points. Al Batinah Power, Phoenix Power, Al Jazeera Service, Sembcorp Salalah and Ooredoo were up by 2.04 per cent, 2.0 per cent, 1.09 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Sell Oman and Renaissance Service were down by 9.6 per cent and 2.82 per cent respectively.
