Imported caribou caught in Oman, returned to owner

Muscat: In cooperation with citizens of the wilayat of Qurayyat, the Environment Authority has caught an imported caribou that escaped from its owner during its transportation.

A statement issued online by Environment Authority said: "After efforts that lasted for a week of research and investigation, the Environment Authority, in cooperation with citizens of Qurayyat , managed to catch an imported caribou that escaped from its owner during its transportation."

"The authority calls upon all owners of imported wild animals not to release them into the Omani environment, to take the necessary precautions to prevent their escape, and to inform the authority's specialists if this occurs," the statement added.
