Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman voiced its denunciation of the further occupation of additional Syrian territory by the Israeli military in the Syrian buffer border zone. Oman also condemned the shameless violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, while continuing their bombardment of sites in the capital Damascus and other areas, which resulted in the deaths of unarmed civilians.
Oman affirmed that these acts represent a blatant violation of international law and Security Council’s resolutions and a dangerous impediment to the efforts to achieve peace and stability in Syria.
The Sultanate of Oman notes that this violation adds further to Israel's extensive record of criminality in the region. It reflects an aggressive character and a policy that seeks to undermine international law at every opportunity.
In a statement today issued by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman once again calls on the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities to stop Israeli violations and malpractices under international law. Oman also restates its firm position in support of the Syrian and Palestinian peoples and their legitimate right to reclaim their occupied territories and establish full sovereignty.
