Oman weather alert: Dust storm warning issued

Muscat: Dust storms over coastal areas of the Arabian Sea, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates may cause low visibility due to the southwest winds, warns Oman Meteorology.

"The southwest winds are active in the coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Sea, the Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, which may cause dust storms and lower horizontal visibility. Duqm Station at 8 am recorded wind gusts at a speed of 38 knots and active gusts of 48 knots," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.
