Internet outage due to damaged int'l submarine communication cables: TRA

Muscat: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) clarified that the reason for the internet being affected is due to a cut in the international submarine communication cables.

TRA said: "The Authority would like to report that internet traffic has been affected at the international level, which has affected subscribers of all telecommunications companies in the Sultanate of Oman, due to a cut in the international submarine communication cables that carry internet services in the countries located on the cable route.”

The authority worked with its partners to fully restore the service.
