Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has arrested four persons for smuggling narcotic substances into the Sultanate, in cooperation with international gangs.
Royal Oman Police said: “The General Administration for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control arrested three people of Asian nationality in possession of more than 20 kg of crystal anesthetic and 17 kg of morphine while they were trying to smuggle them into the country by sea, in partnership with an international gang.”
In addition, The North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command also arrested one person accused of trafficking narcotic substances, and seized quantities of crystal, hashish and various psychotropic tablets in his possession.
The legal procedures are underway against the accused in both cases, ROP added.
