
Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism announced the signing of 36 usufruct contracts to implement various tourism projects in a number of governorates of the Sultanate of Oman during the period from January to the end of September 2025, with an investment value estimated at OMR100 million.
This comes as part of its ongoing efforts to boost investments in the tourism sector in implementation of the tourism development plan.
The contracts signed with investors cover projects spread across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. In Muscat Governorate, four contracts were signed, including the construction of two tourist camps in the Wilayat of Quriyat, in addition to a three-star resort and an integrated tourism complex in the Wilayat of Bausher.
In Dhofar Governorate, two contracts were signed: the first for an existing tourist resort in the Wilayat of Rakhyut, and the other for an integrated tourist complex.
In Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, 10 contracts were signed covering various projects, including three-star hotels and resorts of various categories, up to five stars, in addition to a tourist camp in Jebel Shams and a one-star hotel in Jabal Akhdar.
South Al Batinah Governorate also witnessed the signing of four contracts for projects including hotels, resorts, and a tourist camp, while Al Buraimi Governorate registered one contract for an integrated tourist resort.
North Al Sharqiyah Governorate led the governorates in terms of the number of contracts, with 11, most of which were concentrated in the Wilayat of Bidiyah. These included several tourist camps, in addition to three-star resorts and hotels, as well as a commercial and tourism investment project in the Wilayat of Ibra.
The South Al Sharqiyah Governorate also signed three contracts for projects distributed between the Wilayat of Sur and the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, including a resort and two tourist camps. Musandam Governorate witnessed the signing of one contract for an integrated tourism complex in the Wilayat of Khasab.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism emphasised that these contracts represent an extension of the investment programme, enhancing economic and social benefits and providing job opportunities for local communities, with a focus on empowering small and medium enterprises and enhancing their role in value chains linked to the tourism sector.
This step comes within the framework of efforts to increase the hotel sector's capacity and improve the quality of services in line with sustainable tourism development plans by providing integrated experiences for tourists that reflect the natural, cultural, and heritage diversity and richness of the Sultanate of Oman.
