London: Manchester City clinched the English Football League Cup title after a 2–0 victory over Arsenal in the final.
Rising star Nico O'Reilly scored two second-half headers to secure City’s first trophy of the season and their ninth League Cup triumph.
After a quiet first half, City increased the pressure following the break. O'Reilly opened the scoring in the 60th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Just four minutes later, he doubled the lead with another header from a cross delivered by Mateus Nunes.
Despite being Premier League leaders and favorites going into the match, Arsenal were unable to respond effectively. They came close late in the game, hitting the crossbar, but failed to score—bringing their hopes of a potential quadruple to an end.
