Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has yet to decide the date for starting operations at the new Muscat International Airport.
The MoTC in a statement on Twitter, said, “The Ministry has been closely following tweets and news on social media that suggest the start date of the new Muscat International Airport.
“The ministry would like to confirm that it has yet to determine any date, and everything that is circulating is only predictions and nothing more.”
“There are great efforts being made in this regard by all parties in preparation for operation of the airport, including, acquiring the appropriate licences, performing tests and checks on the building and equipment, delivery operations, training, and readiness activities and others.”
Safety operations
“The Ministry of Transport and Communications confirms that the airport will only operate after the confirmation of the readiness of the airport systems and safety operations. The ministry asks everyone to follow up on news of its projects through its accounts on various social media websites,” the MoTC added.
