Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,550.55 points, up 0.41 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.02 per cent at 514.43 points. Al Sharqia Investment, up 3.08 per cent, was the top gainer while Ooredoo, down 0.52 per cent, was the top loser. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Ooredoo was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 163 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR395,000, with more than 2.0 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 1 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR113,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR92,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR21,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,622.99 points, up by 0.49 per cent. Al Sharqia Investment, Oman & Emirates Investment, HSBC Bank Oman, Sohar International Bank and Bank Nizwa were up by 3.08 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.
Services index was up by 0.11 per cent before closing at 1,590.660 points. Omantel and Renaissance Service were up by 1.31 per cent and 0.59 per cent respectively. Ooredoo was down by 0.52 per cent.
