Weather alert: Dust storms to continue in parts of Oman

Muscat: Dust storms and low horizontal visibility warning issued over parts of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.

Oman Meteorology said in a statement: "Warning, the continued activity of southwesterly winds in parts of the coastal areas overlooking the Arabian Sea and the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar which may cause dust storms and decreased horizontal visibility, as Duqm station recorded at 9 am winds gusting at a speed of 36 knots with active gusts of 46 knots.

"The aerial images showed the continuation of the flow of clouds of varying heights in the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar, and the condensation of low clouds on the coastal strip of the Dhofar Governorate, with chances of light shower," Oman Meteorology added.
