
Muscat – In a series of coordinated operations, Royal Oman police have successfully apprehended several individuals involved in illegal entry and drug trafficking across different regions of the Sultanate.
In Musandam governorate, the Coast Guard Police, in collaboration with the Musandam Governorate Police Command, intercepted a fishing boat attempting to enter Omani territorial waters illegally. Onboard were three individuals of Asian nationality found in possession of large quantities of alcoholic beverages. The suspects were detained in the Wilayat of Khasab, and legal proceedings are currently underway.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, in cooperation with the General Administration of Customs, arrested an Asian national in the Wilayat of Bausher. The arrest followed the surveillance and tracking of a suspicious parcel arriving from a European country. Upon inspection, authorities discovered a water pump concealing a quantity of cocaine intended for trafficking and personal use. Legal action is being taken against the suspect.
In another incident, the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Department under the South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command apprehended an Asian national in the Wilayat of Barka. The individual was found in possession of quantities of hashish, crystal meth, and morphine, with the intent to distribute and consume. Legal procedures are ongoing.
The Royal Oman Police reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders and combating illegal activities, urging the public to report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.
