Muscat: A total of 13 motorbikes that were used for drifting have been seized by police officials, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.
In a statement online ROP said, "The special task force in Rustaq in coordination with the Southern Batinah police department carried out a campaign which led to 13 bikes being seized on charges of drifting and [causing] public harm."
Authorities said that this move was part of a campaign to limit the practice of bad road behaviour like drifting and using loud bikes to intimidate people which causes inconvenience and also leads to accidents.
According to the new traffic laws in Oman, anyone found drifting will be fined OMR50 in addition to receiving three black points on their licence.
